Christopher Ross is a dancer, performer, and emerging dance educator whose lifelong relationship with movement began at a young age. His early dance journey included auditioning for and being accepted into the Debbie Allen Dance Academy at approximately 12 years old, where he continued developing his foundation as a young dancer. While attending Renaissance High School, Christopher expanded his performance experience through both dance and musical theatre, appearing in productions including Legally Blonde and Singin’ in the Rain, as well as numerous dance performances and showcases. He continued his dance education at Santa Monica College, where he performed with Synapse Dance Theater and participated in additional performances throughout the local dance community. Christopher later attended Long Beach City College, where he performed in numerous choreographic works and was recognized with the Best Emerging Talent award. During his time at LBCC, he was also given the opportunity to perform at the American College Dance Association (ACDA), further expanding his experience in collegiate concert dance. Christopher’s training eventually took him to New York City after successfully auditioning for and being accepted into The Ailey School, where he trained for two years. His experiences across ballet, jazz, contemporary and concert dance, musical theatre, and performance have shaped both his versatility as a dancer and his appreciation for the discipline, creativity, and confidence that dance can cultivate. Now stepping into dance education, Christopher is excited to share that experience with a new generation of young dancers. His goal as an instructor is to create an environment where students can develop strong foundations in technique and musicality while also discovering the joy, imagination, confidence, and freedom that first make children fall in love with dance. He believes young dancers should be encouraged to work hard, make mistakes, express themselves, and – most importantly – have fun while learning. For Christopher, teaching represents an opportunity to give young dancers the same kind of space that shaped his own journey: a place to move, create, grow, perform, and discover just how much they are capable of.
