Save the Date! Long Beach Gives is a city wide day of giving to help raise money and awareness for local non profit organizations. All proceeds help support our Community Engagement Program providing free, accessible, inclusive and equitable music and theater classes for all children in our community. Ways that you can help:

This year our good friend Kari Venaas will donate $20 to Jewel Box for each peer funder account that gets created (up to $1,000), so all you need to do is create a peer fundraiser and you will help us!
Why I give:
I support JBCT because no one is doing what they are doing. They are bringing back the love and creativity to the craft. Letting these kids create from scratch and helping their imaginations soar. This is what the theatre community is to me. A safe space to be yourself and play. Regardless of experience, ability, or socioeconomic status. I feel so lucky to be a small part of JBCT’s journey, and can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of the kids lives they have impacted.
About Kari:
Kari was privileged to have access to the arts at a very young age. She participated in her first theatre show at 10 years old and stayed performing into her adult life. As a Fat Artist there were times when she didn’t always feel welcome in this theatre world that she loved so much. In 2019 she chose to go back to school to focus on Theatre Administration, to be a fierce advocate for artists. She currently works at South Coast Repertory as the Development Coordinator, and is a member of their EDIB Committee.
